Dale, My husband, also named Dale, had surgery in October, 2000. He was having seizures due to an AVM in his right temporal lobe. The surgery was successful, he came through with flying colors, and has not had a seizure since. Not even an aura! We thank God for that every day. My question to you, or your wife is this. Have you noticed any change in personality? I have noticed a personality change in my husband, and it became noticeable a couple months after he had his surgery. He is angry alot, very distant with me, doesn't joke around like he used to, and is short-tempered. When I asked his surgeon if this surgery would change Dale's personality, he said no. The part of the brain they operated on controlled memory, not personality. Well, I can't help but think that in Dale's case they are wrong! It's more than a coincidence that two months after having brain surgery that he is a different person. I have been searching for other sites to try to find out if anyone else has experienced this, but so far haven't found anyone. I'm glad you had good results from your surgery, I know it was a very stressful thing to go through, including all the testing before the surgery! I wish you much health and happiness in your future!
